Many thanks for getting in touch.
It’s difficult to believe but the house was built for my father. He left Costa Rica four years ago due to ill health and moved to the UK, essentially abandoning the house and leaving all his possessions there, it’s very sad for me to see, and the cause of many family arguments.
We have tried to manage it from afar and have only been able to hire a gardener to keep the garden under control, but nobody seems to want to help in Costa Rica even if we offer to pay, it’s all very strange. We had several cleaners for the first few years but they eventually disappear.
None of the family want to take over the house and it would cost too much to repair now, so we will probably try to persuade my father to sell it but he so far refuses to. I originally planned to take it on myself and restore it back to how it was but we do not have the funds at the moment and I can’t see how I could manage it from here as an Air BnB or similar as we can’t find somebody to manage it.
Regards
Gianni
